Tyler Perry will bring viewers a music-filled movie this holiday season, with Fantasia and Tank leading the cast of his film The Gospel of Christmas.
The director announced the movie on social media Friday, Oct. 9, as Netflix unveiled first-look photos from the drama ahead of its November premiere.
“I have taken y’all to a family reunion, on a college road trip, to prison — now come on go with me to church!!!” Perry wrote on X. “The Gospel of Christmas premiering Nov 11th on @netflix.”
Tank plays Isaac, a struggling pastor who inherits his family’s church in a troubled New York neighborhood. Fantasia co-stars as his wife, Rebecca.

According to the official description, as Isaac “battles doubt, temptation, and a sinister adversary, he must rediscover his faith and the power of prayer to save his church, his family, and his community.”
The two singers are joined by a cast filled with gospel music favorites, including Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Smokie Norful, Jekalyn Carr, the Clark Sisters, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Ann Nesby, Le’Andria Johnson, Hezekiah Walker, CeCe Winans, and Shirley Caesar.
The cast also includes Ricco Ross, Chanté Moore, John Gray, Carl Lentz, Mason Douglas, Lauren Chanel, and Eric Wiltz.

Kirk Franklin produced the music. While Perry wrote and directed the movie, and serves as a producer alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland.
The project brings Fantasia back to the screen following her performance as Celie in the 2023 musical adaptation of The Color Purple. The American Idol season 3 winner received the NAACP Image Award for outstanding actress in a motion picture in 2024.
Tank, whose real name is Durrell Babbs, is a singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and podcaster. The R&B performer has earned five Grammy nominations over the years, according to the Grammys website.
Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas arrives on Netflix Nov. 11, 2026 ahead of Thanksgiving.
