The rumors are true — Rhona Bennett has left En Vogue after two decades with the R&B girl group.

Rumors began circulating about Bennett’s status because she was missing when the group joined Salt ‘N’ Pepa on stage at the hip-hop icons’ induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Nov. 8.

With fans demanding answers, Bennett seemingly confirmed she was no longer part of En Vogue in a lengthy Nov. 13 Instagram post.

She titled the post “A New Season,” and revealed she was not informed about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame appearance.

“I’m normally pretty private, but many of you reached out to ask why I wasn’t at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance,” Bennett wrote. “I was approved, during the summer, to facilitate my own event happening concurrently on November 8th, however I was not informed about the Hall of Fame performance and discovered it at the same time as the public. It could’ve been nice to attend had I been given the opportunity to adjust my schedule.”

Fans filled the post with comments and words of support.

As questions spread, original En Vogue members Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones confirmed Bennett is no longer part of the group in a statement posted to Instagram on Nov. 17.

“Out of due respect for our sisters @saltnpepaofficial and their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, we chose to refrain from addressing Rhona Bennett’s departure from En Vogue until now,” the statement began.

“We are proud of En Vogue’s legacy, and for over 35 years have been committed to maintaining an open-door culture for members to pursue their individual aspirations while staying ‘true’ to our brand. As a group, we have the utmost respect for Rhona’s talents and have consistently supported her personal endeavors throughout the past 22 years. Looking ahead to 2026, with founding member Maxine Jones, who returned earlier this year we are extremely blessed to celebrate two major milestones: the 30th anniversary of the EV3 debut and the 25th anniversary of the Masterpiece Theatre album. Thanks to our fans for your support!”

En Vogue was formed in Oakland, California in the late 1980s, and released their debut album Born to Sing on April 3, 1990.

The original lineup consisted of Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones.

Jones and Robinson left the group years ago, with Jones returning earlier this year.

Robinson joined R&B group Lucy Pearl in 1999. In March of this year, she revealed she’s been living in her car.

In 2003, Bennett joined En Vogue for the recording of their album Soul Flower.
