Wendy Williams Getting Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Wendy Williams will soon have a permanent place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The talk show host is getting a star on the Los Angeles landmark on Oct. 17, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced in a news release. Her star is being awarded in the television category, and will be located at 6533 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony is open to the public and begins at 11:30 a.m.

The New Jersey native is a longtime radio and television personality, best known for hosting The Wendy Williams Show. Her talk show, now in its 11th season, was recently renewed by the FOX Television Stations and will continue through 2022.

Before launching her TV show, Williams hosted “The Wendy Williams Experience” syndicated radio program for WBLS in New York. She was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in November 2009.

Other entertainment heavyweights scheduled to receive stars on the Walk of Fame this month include music mogul Tommy Mottola on Oct. 10, and Seven Beauties filmmaker Lina Wertmüller on Oct. 28.

In 2020, the Walk of Fame will welcome Spike Lee, 50 Cent and Billy Porter.

Recipients are selected from the world’s of film, television, radio, live theatre and music.
