Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese Gibson visited John Singleton in the hospital this weekend.

The two stars, who appeared in Singleton’s 2001 film Baby Boy and have remained friends with him, asked fans to “keep praying” for the filmmaker, who suffered a stroke on April 17.

“Visited you today,” Henson captioned a photo on Instagram of the three together. “Me and @tyrese prayed so hard over you. You heard my voice and jumped up. I HAVE HOPE AND FAITH BECAUSE I KNOW THAT #GODIS. Keep praying EVERYBODY for our beloved @johnsingleton.”

Tyrese added the comment: “Heavy heart, state of shock but there was something powerful about feeling the presence of God that gave us the reassurance that God is going to pull him through this……… The idea that me and taraji prayed hard over john so much history so much genuine love….. We can only hope and keep praying that God brings him back to us!!!!!!!!!”

Singleton has been hospitalized in Los Angeles for 11 days. His family said last week that the Boyz n the Hood director is in ICU and “under great medical care.”

As Urban Hollywood 411 previously reported, the director’s mother, Sheila Ward, filed an application on Thursday, April 25 asking to be named temporary conservator over her son and his estate. Ward said in court documents that Singleton had suffered a “major stroke” and is “in a coma.”

The following day, the director’s daughter, Cleopatra Singleton, filed court papers disputing her grandmother’s claims, and accused Ward of “misrepresenting” her dad’s condition.

“My father is not in a coma,” the 19-year-old wrote in her legal filing. She added that while doctors “do not have a concrete diagnosis, my dad is progressing every day… he is only medically sedated to keep his blood pressure low and allow the vessels in his brain to heal.”

She went on to allege that her grandmother had “abused” her position as Singleton’s business manager and should not be appointed his conservator. Instead, she recommended that her older brother or her grandfather be named conservator.
