Longtime television news executive Gary Wordlaw has shared the devastating news that his son, Gary Junior, is on life support after a car accident.

“My son was struck by a hit and run driver while crossing a street in Tulsa on December 30th. He has been on life support since then. He has undergone multiple surgeries but unfortunately will be paralyzed from the chest down if he survives his critical injuries,”  Wordlaw told Rick Gevers, an agent representing on-air talent, who also publishes an industry newsletter.

“The outpouring of love and support by my extended family of broadcast and print journalists has been overwhelming,” he added. “I have read to him the many comments on social media, emails and texts that have come from many of you. While devastated by this turn of events, my wife Marjorie and my children and I are eternally grateful for all the prayers offered in behalf of my son Gary Junior and the family.”
