Tamar Braxton was rushed to a hospital Thursday night in Los Angeles after being found unconscious, according to multiple published reports.
“There was a medical emergency call generated related to a possible overdose at 9:45 p.m.,” a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told The Blast. “The person was then transported to a nearby hospital.”
The website, which first reported news of Braxton’s hospitalization, said her boyfriend, David Adefeso, found her “unresponsive and sources believe it was a possible suicide attempt.”
Braxton, 43, was transported from the Ritz-Carlton Residences at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.
“Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day,” her rep said in a statement to the website. “More information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”
Braxton and Adefeso started dating in 2018. They currently host a live YouTube series titled Coupled & Quarantined, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new episode was supposed to air on Thursday, but a message on the YouTube page said Braxton was “not feeling well.”
“Hello y’all unfortunately your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today’s show (don’t worry it’s not COVID),” the message said. “We’re sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week’s show is going to be even bigger and better. So sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. We’ll make it up to you next week.”
The actress and singer’s hospitalization came on the same day that the trailer was released for her new We tv reality series, Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!
According to We tv’s description for the show, it follows Braxton as she tries to “turn her life around and take matters into her own hands by sharing her truth in a revealing new docuseries that follows her every move.”
The series is scheduled to premiere on July 30. We tv did not immediately respond to Urban Hollywood 411‘s request for comment Friday, on whether the show will still move forward as planned.
Earlier this week, Braxton took to Twitter to express her frustrations with We tv and her contract for Braxton Family Values.
