T.I. Says Goodbye to Rap After Final Album ‘Kill the King’

T.I. is officially leaving the rap game.

The Grammy-winning rapper confirmed his retirement plans in a new interview with People, saying his recently released Kill the King is his final studio album.

“I’ve gotten everything I prayed for from the game,” he told the magazine.

The Atlanta rap icon, born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., is stepping away from music as he celebrates 25 years since the release of his debut album, I’m Serious, which arrived in October 2001.

Over the years, he has released 12 studio albums, earned multiple Grammy Awards, and helped shape Southern hip-hop with hits including “Whatever You Like,” “Live Your Life,” “Bring Em Out,” “Big S–t Poppin’ (Do It),” and “What You Know.”

He also expanded his career into acting with roles in the films ATL, Takers, American Gangster,Dolemite Is My Name, and other projects.

T.I.’s final album, Kill the King, was released last month through his Grand Hustle Records. The project includes the single “Let ‘Em Know,” which he performed at the 2026 BET Awards.

Reflecting on his decades-long career, the rapper said he is grateful for everything music gave him.

“I feel blessed to have had such a long career, to go from the kid that was praying to be a part of something to having such a significant role,” he shared.
