Opposites really do attract in the official trailer for the new romantic drama She Taught Love.

The film follows Frank Cooper (Darrell Britt-Gibson), a struggling actor who drifts through live on a self-destructive path in between auditions for stereotypical roles as gang members and drug dealers. On the other hand, Mali Waters (Arsema Thomas) is a successful sports agent who is determined, and passionate about her career.

In the trailer, Frank meets Mali and he finally has a goal in sight — winning her over.

“No one can convince me that what happens here is the beginning and end of everything,” says Mali.

According to the official description, “Mali and Frank are inescapably drawn to one another. As Mali is forced to face her own mortality, the clock begins to tick. The two must learn to rely on each other, choosing to love and live for the moment, even if that’s all they get.”

The ensemble cast also includes Taissa Farmiga, Alexander Hodge, Edwin Lee Gibson, and D’Arcy Carden.

The film’s star, Darrell Britt-Gibson, wrote the script and executive produced the drama alongside Jason Aidoo. Nate Edwards is the director.

Fans may recognize Britt-Gibson, who had a role in Judas and the Black Messiah. Arsema Thomas is best known to audiences for her role on Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

She Taught Love comes from Disney division Andscape — formerly known as The Undefeated — a Black content studio dedicated to exploring and highlighting Black identity in culture and sports.

The film arrives in select theaters and on Hulu Sept. 27.
