Gizelle Bryant is bringing her experience in front of the camera and inside the church to the new BET series Church Wives.

BET and aTwist recently announced The Real Housewives of Potomac star leads the cast and serves as an executive producer on the scripted series.

“I’m incredibly honored to be part of this exciting project,” Bryant said in a press release. “Being able to help bring a project I’m so passionate about to life has been incredibly rewarding. I’m so proud of what we’ve created and can’t wait for audiences everywhere to see it!”

The series is set to premiere Nov. 4, with new episodes airing weekly as part of BET’s Where Drama Lives Wednesday lineup.

The drama is set inside a prominent megachurch and “follows two ambitious women who go to war for status and power when a coveted leadership role opens up,” according to the official description.

Joining Bryant in the cast are Ashley Clarice, Amberlin Morse, Kiana Nicole Washington, Cortez Adams, Alicia Marie, Lanre Idewu, Suki Sullivan, Paul Jerome, Cynthia Pope, Amanda Michelle Smith, Rhonda Bankston, Victoria Udeh and Shannon Echols.

The church setting is familiar territory for Bryant. Before becoming a Bravo fan favorite, she was married to pastor Jamal Bryant and served as first lady of Empowerment Temple AME in Baltimore.

The RHOP star shared details about her new project and the teaser trailer with fans on Instagram.

“SO EXCITED and HONORED to EXECUTIVE PRODUCE this amazing project. It’s beyond good! @bet @atwistofficial Drops NOVEMBER 4th!” she wrote in an Oct. 13 post.

Church Wives is produced by aTwist, a mobile-first microseries studio founded by television veterans Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner and Lloyd Braun earlier this year.

The series debuts Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 10 p.m. ET/CT on BET. It will initially air in half-hour installments presented in a traditional horizontal format.

Following a limited TV run, the episodes will move to aTwist’s vertical platform and be reformatted as a microseries.
