Would Regina Hall ever return to the Scary Movie franchise? The actress seems to like the idea.

While promoting the two-part documentary Cold Case Files: The Grim Sleeper about serial killer Lonnie Franklin Jr. — which Hall narrates — she was asked in an interview with TVInsider,  about returning to the horror spoof franchise now that original creators, the Wayans Brothers, are working on a new installment.

“Anna [Farris] is great. I’m just very excited to know that the Wayans, who started the project out of their idea, are back on board and at the helm again. I’m excited for them,” Hall said in the interview.

She co-starred as Cindy Campbell’s (Anna Farris) hilarious best friend Brenda Meeks. In the interview, the Girl Trip actress said she’d like to return.

We’ll see if Brenda is in this new world. I’m thrilled at the possibility that the band could get back together again. That would be fun,” she shared.

As previously reported, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are reteaming to produce and write an original screenplay for a new installment of the franchise.

The brothers created the horror comedy franchise back in 2000.

Keenen wrote and directed the first two films, while his brothers Marlon and Shawn helped with the writing and starred in the movies.

While Hall had roles in the first four installments, the Wayans were forced out of their own franchise. After the first two movies, Miramax brought in a new team to direct Scary Movie 3 though they still used ideas from the Wayans.

Now that the Wayans are back, Scary Movie 6 is expected to be released in theaters sometime in 2025.
