Southern California rapper and YG associate, Slim 400, is hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Compton.
The shooting occurred on Friday, June 28 around 8:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Times. The rapper was rushed to an area hospital where he underwent surgery and is said to be in serious condition.
The circumstances and motive for the shooting remain unclear.

In a 2018 interview with “This is 50,” Slim 400 talked about having gang ties, but said he was focused on making money and business opportunities.
Earlier this month, he posted a flyer on Instagram saying he was booked to perform at a BET Experience event in West Hollywood.
“Hol’Upppp #Tonite I’m live @theroxy shout out to #betexperience2019 & @djeveready for addin me to the line up,” he wrote.

The up-and-coming rapper collaborated with YG & Sad Boy Loko on the 2017 single “Bruisin.”
Slim 400 was born in Germany, where his dad was stationed with the U.S. armed forces, and grew up in Compton.
