An “execution-style” shooting in Los Angeles left an associate of Georgia rapper Quando Rondo dead.
The shooting happened Friday evening at a gas station near the Beverly Center shopping mall, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The search continued Sunday for the suspects.
Witnesses heard “numerous shots” near the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard around 5:30 p.m., the LAPD said in a news release.
“The suspects were described as three males wearing dark clothing,” police said they were told by witnesses. The trio fled through an alley in a white four-door sedan.

A male victim was found a few blocks away inside a black Cadillac Escalade near San Vicente Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, where the vehicle stopped, LAPD Lt. John Radke later told local news station ABC7. Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital, where he died.
The neighborhood is near the border between Los Angeles and West Hollywood, the latter of which is patrolled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
An ABC7 news report showed sheriff’s deputies pulling a male victim from inside the SUV. A distraught Quando Rondo is shown in the footage screaming out in distress when he realizes his associate has been shot.
Meanwhile, a Fox 11 news report described the shooting as “execution-style” and said the gunfire erupted as someone was fueling up the Escalade at the gas station and came “under attack.”
A rep for Quando Rondo confirmed he witnessed the shooting.
“Quando was present during a shooting yesterday evening which resulted in the untimely death of another young man’s life,” the rep said in a statement Saturday to TMZ.
The rep added that the rapper was not injured.
“He himself didn’t sustain any injuries during the shooting and is safe. We ask that his privacy is respected at this time,” the rep said.
Quando Rondo, real name Tyquian Terrel Bowman, is a 23-year-old rapper from Savannah, Georgia. He is known for the 2018 single “I Remember” featuring Lil Baby, which has over 94 million views on YouTube.
