Performances from hip-hop artists over the last five decades were sprinkled throughout the show.
“I’m in the building,” the rapper said in a video posted on social media.
The show will include a hip-hop 50 tribute and a segment honoring Tina Turner.
Jennifer Hudson, Delroy Lindo, and Marla Gibbs will also be recognized.
The original series launched on The CW in 2006, and ended its run on BET in 2015.
