The tensions between Isaiah Stiles and Coltrane Wilder will continue after Netflix renewed Nemesis for a second season.
The streaming giant announced the renewal in a press release on Tuesday, June 30.
In the announcement, creator and executive producer Courtney A. Kemp said loyal viewers made the renewal possible.
“I feel blessed to get a season two. We thank the fans… it’s because of them, there’s no other reason,” Kemp said. “It’s them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response.”
She added, “We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”

Kemp created the Power Universe for Starz and previously worked as a writer on The Good Wife.
Tani Marole co-created Nemesis and also serves as an executive producer.
“Make no mistakes, season two is going to be bigger and better,” Marole said in a statement.
Nemesis follows two men on opposite sides of the law. LAPD Det. Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law), who lost his partner to a notorious robbery crew, is on a mission to take down the criminal who was responsible. He faces off with his nemesis, high-end thief Coltrane Wilder (Y’lan Noel).
The cast also includes Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe, Jeff Pierre, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Michael Potts.
Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale’o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein, and Chris Bauer had guest roles on the first season.
“Courtney and Tani have built something truly special with Nemesis — a show that captivated audiences and never let go,” Nne Ebong, Netflix’s vice president of studio scripted series, said Tuesday.
“Their vision, craft, and passion are unmatched, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue this journey with them into season 2,” added Ebong.
The eight-episode first season premiered on May 14. For the week of May 11-17, the series debuted in the No. 3 spot on the Netflix TV chart with 832 million minutes viewed. It then climbed to No. 1 for its first full week on the chart with 1.31 billion minutes viewed. The series also dominated social media in its first week of release.
Executive producers on the drama include Chris Selak, Philipp Barnett, and Mario Van Peebles.
Van Peebles directed the first two episodes. Millicent Shelton helmed episodes 103 and 104. Rob Hardy and Ruben Garcia also directed two episodes each.
Additional details on the show’s second season will be announced soon.
