Starz is expanding its business portfolio with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The network and the entertainment mogul announced plans on Tuesday, June 30, to develop a television adaptation of hit supernatural graphic novel Bone Parish.

Starz said it won a bidding war for the rights to the novel by Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf. 50 Cent will executive produce the project through his G-Unit Film & Television banner.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories that break the mold, and Bone Parish does exactly that. It takes crime, family, and power, and mixes it with something dark and supernatural, in a way that feels fresh,” 50 Cent said in a statement.

“Exploring what happens when the world of the living gets mixed up with the world of the dead, this story has incredible depth, and we’re building a series that’s going to keep audiences locked in from the first episode,” he added.

Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra (Dune: Prophecy and The Witcher: Blood Origin) have signed on as executive producers and co-showrunners. Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer from BOOM! Studios will serve as co-executive producers.

“We love going on new journeys with Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, and this one is unlike anything we’ve done before, a world steeped in horror, and the supernatural, but still grounded in the family and crime storytelling our audience can’t get enough of,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz. “It’s a wild, bold swing, and exactly the kind of risk we want to be taking.”

Bone Parish is set in the underworld of New Orleans. It follows the Winters family as they build an empire around a powerful new drug—crafted from the ashes of the dead—that grants users vivid, haunting visions of the past. But as demand for the concoction surges, rival factions and supernatural forces close in, leading to a nightmare of crime, horror, and family legacy.

The series is the latest project to come from 50 Cent’s partnership with Starz, after Fightland and the Power franchise, including the new upcoming series Power: Origins and Power: Legacy.

London-set boxing drama Fightland follows former heavyweight world champion Duke, who returns to London seeking revenge on the crime family he believes destroyed his life. Howard Charles plays Duke and Nicholas Pinnock co-stars as South London criminal kingpin Kingsley Marshall.

The series is set to premiere July 31 on Starz.
