It’s pretty much a given at this point, Meghan Markle’s father won’t be getting any invitations to meet with the royal family anytime soon, after his latest comments.
Thomas Markle sat down for another tell-all interview about his daughter and her new life. This time he told British tabloid The Sun he believes Meghan is struggling to adjust to the transition from working as an actress on Suits, to her “prim” role as the Duchess of Sussex.
“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified,” Thomas said in an article published Sunday. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.”

The 73-year-old retired Hollywood lighting director said something hasn’t been right with Meghan since she married Prince Harry in May.
“I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now,” he continued. “This one isn’t even a stage smile – this is a pained smile.”
He added that he’s concerned 36-year-old Meghan is under “too much pressure.”

Thomas criticized the royal family’s “ridiculous” dress code, and said his daughter now “seems like something out of an old movie.”
The interview was accompanied by photographs and a video.
In the minute-long video, Thomas said he hasn’t been able to reach his daughter since he did a TV interview last month on Good Morning Britain.
“The phone number that I called, it doesn’t work anymore,” he admitted in the video. “The liaison with the royal family never answers back, and there’s no address I can write to. So, I have no way of contacting my daughter.”
Thomas pocketed a reported $10,000 for the TV interview.
A few days after it aired, he told TMZ he had been put in the “penalty box” by the royal family, for speaking to the media.
Thomas concluded his new video interview by saying he desperately wants to patch up his relationship with Meghan.
“I miss you very much,” he said he would like to tell his daughter.
