Lil Nas X  dropped a new track dissing BET after he was left out of the nominations for the 2022 BET Awards.

In a video uploaded Tuesday to Twitter, the “Industry Baby” rapper is shirtless in a parked car while singing “f— BET, f— BET.”

The track is called “Late to Da Party” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Lil Nas X says the single is “coming soon.”

Some of the other lyrics include: “Look at how I top sh-t/I just put like three up in the top 10/And I don’t need nobody/I just need these ccs on my body/Everything I do be tryna run, go make a profit/Read about it.”

Another part of the song says: “Don’t try me, you better save that s— for somebody else, Don’t try me, ’cause b—-, I can’t be late to the party.”

The rapper noted in one of his tweets that the song is “not over no BET award, this is about the bigger problem of homophobia in the Black community.”

After the song was posted to social media, BET responded in a statement saying, “We love Lil Nas X. He was nominated for a best new artist BET Award in 2020 and we proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice.”

“Unfortunately, this year, he was not nominated by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of nearly 500 entertainment professionals in the fields of music, television, film, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, influencers and creative arts,” the statement continued. “No one from BET serves as a member of the Voting Academy.”

As previously reported, this is the second year the awards show has ignored the “Montero” artist for a nomination despite his commercial and Grammy Awards success.
