Kamar de los Reyes Dies: ‘All American’ and ‘One Life to Live’ Actor Was 56

Kamar de los Reyes, an actor whose credits included All American, The Rookie, and One Life to Live, died in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. He was 56.

De los Reyes passed away after a short battle with cancer, a publicist for his family said in a statement to the media.

The actor was born in Puerto Rico on Nov. 8, 1967, according to his IMDb page.

De los Reyes grew up in Las Vegas in a family of artists, and decided he wanted to be a performer at age eight. He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1980s and started landing small parts.

His big break came in 1994, with a recurring role as Ray Ariaz on the syndicated TV series Valley of the Dolls. He appeared on the series throughout its 65 episode run.

In 1995, the actor joined One Life to Live as former gang member Antonio Vega, who became a lawyer and a cop. He won an ALMA Award for the role in 2008. His wife, Sherri Saum, also appeared on the daytime drama.

In addition to daytime TV, de los Reyes voiced the character of villain Raul Menendez in the video games Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012), Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (2018), Call of Duty: Mobile (2019), and Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021).

He also had roles on the Fox series Sleepy Hollow, the CBS drama Blue Bloods, and ABC’s The Rookie. His most recent part was as Coach Montes on the CW’s All American.
