The Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star was arrested on March 25, 2023, when his then-girlfriend accused him of assaulting her as they rode in the back of a chauffeured SUV and their dispute spilled out to a New York City street.

As Majors prepared for his assault trial, Disney’s Searchlight Pictures division pulled Magazine Dreams from its release schedule in October 2023.

The drama was later picked up by Briarcliff Entertainment and given a theatrical release in March 2025.

Majors maintained his innocence throughout the case and pleaded not guilty. He was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December 2023. A New York judge sentenced him to probation and ordered the actor to complete a 52-week domestic violence prevention program.

Majors is now married to actress and producer Meagan Good. He previously said Good “lost endorsements” and other opportunities for standing by his side during the trial.

“We got uninvited to stuff. She got uninvited to stuff because she had shown just how down she was, and they knew if Meagan’s coming, J’s coming. She took an incredible hit,” he told “The Breakfast Club” in March 2025.
