After the two hour service, Singleton’s casket was transported to Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills cemetery where he was laid to rest.

The funeral comes a little over a week after the 51-year-old Oscar nominee died on April 28. The writer-producer-director had been in a coma after suffering a stroke on April 17, and his family ultimately made the decision to take him off of life support.

A larger memorial to celebrate the critically-acclaimed director’s life is currently being planned and will be held “in a few weeks.” Additional details have yet to be released.
