Jamie Foxx says he’s ready to publicly address the mystery illness that nearly took his life last year.

Foxx shared on Instagram Monday, Sept. 2, that he plans to tell all in a one-man show titled What Had Happened Was: An Evening With Jamie Foxx, from Oct. 3 to Oct. 6.

The stand-up sets will take place in Atlanta, although a venue has yet to be announced.

“Join us for an unforgettable one-man show as Jamie Foxx takes the stage to share his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration,” read the post on Foxx’s official Instagram feed.

“Experience Jamie Foxx like never before in this intimate and engaging performance, as he opens up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. Get ready for a night of laughter, reflection, and genuine connection,” the post continued.

Foxx first announced he was going to talk about his health scare in a one-man show, back in March 2024, while he was at the 7th annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards luncheon.

At the time, the Ray star said he’s happy to just be alive after the health crisis left him in “dire straits.”

It was in April 2023, when the Oscar-winning star was hospitalized in Atlanta while filming the Netflix movie Back in Action

His oldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, said on social media that he had suffered a “medical complication.”

Foxx was later transferred to a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago.

The singer and actor eventually shared more details with a group of fans, noting that he experienced a bad headache and was then “gone for 20 days.”
