Jada Pinkett Smith is ready to tell all in a “no holds barred” memoir set for release next fall.
The book will focus on everything from her childhood in Baltimore to her “complicated marriage to Will Smith,” publisher Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, announced Thursday.
“Jada Pinkett Smith chronicles lessons learned in the course of a difficult but riveting journey — a rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power,” Dey Street said in a press release sent to the Associated Press.

The book will explore the actress and Red Table Talk host’s tough childhood, her friendship with late rapper Tupac Shakur and her life as a Hollywood insider.
“With no holds barred, Jada reveals her unconventional upbringing in Baltimore – from the child of two addicts to a promising theatre student and a violent interlude as a petty drug-dealer – followed by a parallel rise to stardom alongside her close friend 2Pac, then falling in love with and marrying Will Smith, and a joyous embrace of motherhood,” the publisher adds.
The announcement comes just over six months after Will Smith marched on stage at the Oscars in March, slapped Chris Rock and shouted “keep my wife’s name out of your f—ing mouth,” after the comedian told a joke about Jada’s shaved head.
In an apology video posted months later, Will admitted his behavior was “unacceptable.”

Jada briefly addressed the Oscars slap on the April 20th episode of Red Table Talk. A statement at the start of the show said the Smith family was going through a “healing” process.
“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing,” the statement read.
Jada and Will previously addressed their marital problems on the Facebook Watch series, with Jada admitting to having a relationship, which she described as an “entanglement,” with R&B singer August Alsina while she and Smith were separated.
