Hulu legal drama Reasonable Doubt is adding a new roster of recurring guest stars ahead of season 4.
La La Anthony, Taylor Polidore Williams, Rutina Wesley, DeVaughn Nixon, and Alexxis Lemire are all joining the series in the new season, Disney’s Onyx Collective division announced in a recent press release.
They join series regulars Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, along with newly added cast members Durrell “Tank” Babbs and Meagan Good.
Anthony had been tapped to Melina Cropper, first wife of Eric Cropper (Durrell “Tank” Babbs). Melina is described as his “ride or die until she’s not.”
Wesley portrays Desiree Grant, a no-nonsense entertainment journalist known for exposing problematic high-profile figures.
Williams recurs as Brooke Cropper, Eric’s second wife, who is just as calculating as her husband as she prepares for a heated divorce.
Nixon plays Tyger Cropper, Eric’s younger brother and A&R manager for his record label. Lemire recurs as Layla Love, a singer signed under Eric Cropper’s record label.
Anthony most recently had a role on BMF and also appeared on Power. Wesley earned acclaim for roles on Queen Sugar and True Blood.
Williams is known to fans for playing “Kimmie” on Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, which is ending after its third season.
Nixon recently appeared on two episodes of Will Trent, and Lemire had a role on Labyrinth.
Created by Raamla Mohamed, Reasonable Doubt follows high-powered Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi), whose sharp legal instincts and morally complex decisions often blur the line between right and wrong.
Here’s the official description for season 4, “After a brutal attack leaves Jax’s family and newly minted law firm shaken, nothing feels certain, especially their future. With Jax’s most loyal client at the center of a spiraling media disaster, The Stewart Firm is thrust into a high-stakes battle where every move could mean survival … or collapse of the firm.”
Morris Chestnut, Joseph Sikora, and Brandee Evans are all returning as recurring guest stars.
Kerry Washington executive produces the series alongside Pilar Savone for Simpson Street, Larry Wilmore for Wilmore Films, Tamara Gregory, Anton Cropper, Lena Cordina, and Erika L. Johnson.
Shawn Holley, Jon Leshay and Zahir McGhee serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced by 20th Television, and comes from Onyx Collective, a division Disney that brings projects from underrepresented creators to Hulu.
Additional details on the new season, including the premiere date, will be announced later.
