This is not your typical boxing drama.
Starz unveiled the first teaser trailer on Wednesday for upcoming boxing series Fightland, and the preview is filled with brutal blows — inside and outside the ring.
“Boxing in a criminal enterprise — always has been and always will be,” says actor Nicholas Pinnock (For Life), who stars as South London crime boss “Kingsley Marshall.”
Kingsley stands watch as a man is beaten and tortured. The criminal kingpin later warns, “There is a war coming.”
Howard Charles (Top Boy) co-stars as “Duke Kilroy,” a former world heavyweight champion who returns to London after serving time in a U.S. prison. Duke wants revenge on the crime family he believes destroyed his life, and nothing will get in the way.
“I’m gonna take everything away from him,” Duke says about Kingsley.
The boxing champ teams up with a cartel that’s plotting to take control of London’s drug market.
With the cartel’s help, “Duke begins a high-risk game of infiltrating Kingsley’s empire to destroy it from within and smoke out his enemy,” according to the official description.
The cast also includes Deborah Ayorinde as “Joy Marshall,” Kingsley Marshall’s shrewd wife. Additional castmembers are Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Cebella “Cece” Marshall; Charles Babalola as Ezekiel “Zeek” Marshall; Tahirah Sharif as Kim Harper; Tyler Conti as Justin “Jay” Hall; and Richard Pepple as Gary “Gazzer” Kilroy.
In June 2025, Starz announced it had greenlit the drama set in the world of underground British boxing. The series is the network’s first fully-owned show since becoming a standalone company following its separation from Lionsgate.
The drama comes from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
“Fightland marks my first internationally produced show through my G-Unit Film & Television,” 50 Cent previously said in a statement. “I anticipate this to be more successful than anything I’ve done before — boxing’s raw stakes are gonna take it to another level.”
The drama was created by Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith (Run and Save Me), who also serve as executive producers and writers.
Power and BMF alums Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. are showrunners, executive producers and writers. Francis Hopkinson and Kate Leadbetter are also executive producers.
Fightland premieres July 31, with new episodes streaming each Friday on the Starz app, and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
