Dr. Dre Hospitalized After Suffering Brain Aneurysm

Dr. Dre is in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a possible brain aneurysm, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday evening.

The music producer and rapper has undergone a battery of tests and is said to be in stable condition. He posted a message on Instagram late Tuesday thanking everyone for their concern.

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he wrote. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

The hip hop mogul, 55, was born Andre Young in Compton. He rose to fame as part of legendary rap group N.W.A in the late 1980s.

As news of Dr. Dre’s hospitalization spread, former N.W.A member Ice Cube asked his Twitter followers to pray for his friend.

“Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre,” Ice Cube tweeted Tuesday.

Dr. Dre co-founded Beats Electronics, and eventually became a billionaire.

The music legend is currently involved in a contentious divorce battle with his wife of 24 years, Nicole Young. According to published reports, Nicole has asked a judge to toss out a prenuptial agreement that she signed in the 1990s.
