Dalyce Curry, an actress who had small roles in The Blues Brothers and Lady Sings the Blues, has died at age 95.
Curry, known as “Momma D” to friends and family, was a victim of the devastating wildfires burning in the Los Angeles area, local news station ABC7 reported. Her remains were found at her destroyed home in Altadena, California on Sunday, Jan. 12.
The L.A. County coroner’s office confirmed Curry’s death to the station.
Before receiving the confirmation, her family had been searching for her, not knowing if she survived the Eaton Fire, which swept through the Altadena community.
The last time she was seen was on Tuesday, Jan. 7 — the day the fires started.

Not realizing the extent of the blaze, Curry’s granddaughter and part-time caregiver Dalyce Kelley had dropped her off at home at midnight after she spent time in the hospital.
Later, Kelley told the news station she was woken up by a text alert that her grandmother’s house had no power. She raced over to check on her, but was stopped at a barricade where a police officer said Curry’s property had been consumed by the flames.
When Kelley was able to inspect the home on Friday, Jan. 10 with a member of the National Guard accompanying her, little remained of the structure and her grandmother was missing.
“It was total devastation,” Kelley told the outlet. “Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac.”
Kelley also confirmed her grandmother’s passing on Facebook.
“Thank you to ABC 7 for featuring our beloved grandmother Dalyce Curry who has been missing from the Eaton Fire in Altadena — about an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property,” wrote Kelley.
Curry’s Hollywood career also included a role as an extra in the 1956 epic, The Ten Commandments.
According to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office, the fires have claimed 25 lives as of Wednesday morning.
The Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles were the most devastating of the blazes.
