Chris Brown has been detained by police in Paris and accused of aggravated rape and drug infractions, according to published reports.

The 29-year-old performer was taken into custody Monday along with his bodyguard and another person after a woman accused Brown of raping her in a hotel room last week, The Associated Press reported citing unnamed police sources.

Brown remained in custody Tuesday. Investigators have another two days to decide if they’ll file preliminary charges or let him go.

The woman who filed the complaint said she met the Loyal singer overnight between January 15-16 at a club near the Champs-Elysees, according to the AP. The group then went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in central Paris, where the woman alleged the rape occurred.

Brown’s publicists at Sony Music would not comment Tuesday.

The Grammy-winning singer, who frequently updates his fans on social media, posted a picture of himself on  Instagram Monday, saying he was rehearsing at a dance studio in Paris.
