Beyoncé will be helping families in the new year by donating $500,000 to those who could lose their homes during the COVID-19 crisis.
On Tuesday, the singer’s BeyGOOD Impact Fund announced it plans to give out $5,000 grants to 100 families and individuals facing financial uncertainty due to job losses or sickness as the pandemic continues.
“This holiday season, while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news. Beyoncé is giving $5k grants to individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions,” the foundation said in a press release.
The announcement of the grants comes just days before the federal eviction moratorium is set to expire.

Grant applications will open on Jan. 7 and documentation must be submitted to the NAACP. One hundred recipients will then be selected by late January. A second round of grant applications will open in February.
This is the fund’s second initiative to help families struggling to make ends meet.
The BeyGOOD Small Business Impact fund donated over $2 million in grants for small businesses. After going through an application process, over 250 small businesses were chosen to receive $10,000 grants each. Those recipients will be announced next week according to the press release.
Earlier this year, Beyoncé donated millions of dollars to the National Alliance in Mental Health, UCLA and local community organizations in order to provide mental health and personal wellness services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
