In honor of the 30th anniversary of So So Def Recordings, founder and producer Jermaine Dupri took the stage at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards —  and performed a medley of hits from the label’s history, along with Bow Wow, Da Brat and other artists.

The 11-minute set kicked off with Dupri paying homage to the 1992 Kris Kross single, “Jump.” Sitting at a mixing board, he recalled the early days of his career.

“Yeah, back in 1991, I was sitting in my room and I wrote this song,” Dupri told the audience, before rapping the first verse of the track.

He was then joined by Ludacris to perform their 2002 hit “Welcome 2 Atlanta.”

As the set continued, Lil Jon took the stage to deliver a version of YoungBloodz’s 2003 hit “Damn!” He followed it up with his own chart-topper, “Snap Yo Fingers.”

Bone Crusher then kicked the excitement up a notch with party anthem “Neva Scared,” while a surprise appearance by Nelly got the crowd cheering over a performance of his 2005 smash hit “Grillz” with Dupri.

Dupri went on to perform his hit, “Money Ain’t a Thing,” before Tyrese and Chingy belted out “Pullin Me Back.”

The star-studded medley came to a close with Bow Wow and Da Brat, who joined Dupri and Dem Franchize Boyz for a performance of “I Think They Like Me,” as dancers worked poles behind them.

The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, hosted by Fat Joe, were recorded earlier this month and aired Oct. 10 on BET.

Kendrick Lamar won the most awards at the ceremony. Drake and Ice Spice were also big winners.

Meanwhile, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland were honored with a cultural influence award, while Marley Marl was recognized with the I Am Hip Hop honor.
