Diddy Tribute Performance to Feature Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Lil’ Kim at BET Awards

Sean “Diddy” Combs will take the stage Sunday night at the BET Awards for a star-studded performance celebrating his musical legacy.

The Bad Boy Records founder will be joined by Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Lil’ Kim, Jodeci, Nas, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Bryson Tiller, and The Maverick City Choir as he receives BET’s 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, the network announced Friday.

“Diddy has always been a pioneering force in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, blazing new trails, and, in so doing, raising the bar for all of us,” BET CEO Scott Mills said in a recent statement. “His virtuosity is matched only by his range – from music to media, culture, business, and philanthropy.”

Past Lifetime Achievement Award recipients include Whitney Houston, Prince, Anita Baker, Samuel Jackson, Lionel Richie, New Edition, Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige.

Other artists set to perform at Sunday’s awards include Lil Wayne, Babyface, Chance The Rapper, Chlöe, Doechii, Ella Mai, Fireboy DML, Jack Harlow, Joey Bada$$, Kirk Franklin, Latto, Lizzo, Muni Long, Roddy Ricch and more. Additionally, GoGo Morrow and OGI will perform on the BET Amplified Stage.

Doja Cat leads the list of nominees with a total of six nods.

Each summer the BET Awards honor celebrities for their work in music, television, film, and sports.

Taraji P. Henson will host the show at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. MC Lyte is once again the ceremony’s announcer and DJ Diamond Kuts returns as house DJ.

The 2022 BET Awards air live on Sunday, June 26 at 8 pm ET/PT on BET.

The show will be simulcast on BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, and VH1. Internationally, the show can be seen on BET Africa, BET France and will be available to watch on My5 and Sky On-Demand in the UK, as well as BET Pluto in the UK and Brazil.

Connie Orlando and Jesse Collins, CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment, serve as executive producers of the awards along with Jamal Noisette.
