Al B. Sure! says he’ll soon reveal what caused him to suffer life-threatening health problems, and he’s suggesting there may be a Sean “Diddy” Combs connection.

The “Nite and Day” singer has been in and out of the hospital over the past couple of years, and at one point spent two months in a coma.

He’s since recovered and on Friday, March 29, made a surprise appearance at the Equal Justice Now Awards in Los Angeles, while promoting his equal access to healthcare initiative with attorney Ben Crump.

While on stage, the New Jack Swing artist announced he has a project about his life and health struggles in the works, and appeared to make reference to Diddy.

“We’re going to be producing the Al B. Sure! life story,” he told the audience, as shown in a video obtained by TMZ. “So hold on to your britches, you’ll really understand how I ended up in a coma. You’re really gonna need to call Homeland Security.”

That last reference was apparently about Combs, whose homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by agents from The Department of Homeland Security on March 25, as part of a sex trafficking investigation.

Diddy has been accused by multiple women and music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones of sexual abuse. The music mogul has denied all of the allegations.

Al B. Sure!, 55, and the late Kim Porter are biological parents to Quincy Brown, a 32-year-old actor and musician, raised by Diddy after the rap mogul began dating Porter off and on for several years.

After his speech, a TMZ crew asked Al B. Sure! his thoughts on Diddy’s legal problems. He mostly kept his thoughts to himself, but said he had just spoken to his son and was relieved he wasn’t with Diddy during the raids.

In October 2020, Al B. Sure! posted a photo of himself on Instagram while wearing a hospital gown, and said he was being treated for issues with his gallbladder and had undergone “major surgery.”

In December 2020, he shared an update on Instagram from a hospital bed and said doctors told him he only had “4 to 6 months left” if he didn’t seek medical treatment.

In May 2022, he offered another update and said he was hospitalized again, although he didn’t say why.

On Oct. 31, 2022, he confirmed on Twitter that he’d been in a coma for two months, after media reports surfaced saying his health was deteriorating. He never offered details on the cause.

On Nov. 2, 2022, he revealed on Instagram that he was undergoing physical therapy and learning to walk again after collapsing in July when the entire left side of his body went numb. He did not disclose what caused the health crisis.

Al B. Sure! has since become an ambassador for the American Liver Foundation. The organization announced its partnership with the singer in October 2023 and said he had received a liver transplant a year earlier.
