There may be more bad news ahead for Sean “Diddy” Combs.
A new report claims prison officials are seriously considering transferring the rapper and producer out of Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey following a wild brawl.
According to TMZ, the Bad Boy Records founder was moved to solitary confinement last week after a “violent” confrontation inside the low-security facility.
Diddy has mostly stayed out of the news lately, aside from his federal appeal, new civil lawsuits, and reports that he is still jockeying for a presidential pardon. But now, his hopes for early release could go up in smoke because of the fight.

Media Takeout is reporting “federal prison officials are preparing to transfer him out of the low-security camp altogether and place him into a medium-security facility.”
The outlet cited a source with ties to the prison who claimed Combs has committed too many alleged infractions to qualify for early release. Instead, the source said prison officials are preparing to “strip away” privileges he earned for good behavior.
The source also claimed the fight broke out over “a smuggled pack of Newport cigarettes and illegal cell phones.”
That contradicts TMZ, which reported the fight began after an inmate “dissed” Diddy, causing the mogul to become angry.
Still, both outlets have reported Combs “held his own” during the brawl, which prison staff quickly broke up.
The mogul is serving a 50-month sentence following a July 2025 conviction on two prostitution related counts.
A transfer would be a crushing blow for the music mogul.
You may recall his legal team specifically asked that he be allowed to serve his sentence at the facility because it has a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which can help reduce an inmate’s sentence. They also noted that the mogul has relatives living nearby.
For now, there’s been no official word on moving the mogul or extending his sentence.
As of publication time, the Bureau of Prisons website says he is still scheduled to be released in February 2028.
