‘Beyond the Gates’ Scores 15 Daytime Emmy Nominations for Breakout First Season

Beyond the Gates is already a major player in the Daytime Emmys landscape after just one season.

The CBS series earned 15 nominations when the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced Tuesday.

The 15 nods mark a major milestone for the series about a wealthy Black family, making it one of the most-recognized new shows at this year’s Daytime Emmys.

The series received a nomination for Outstanding Daytime Drama. The freshman soap will compete for the top prize alongside fellow CBS series The Young and the Restless, which led all daytime dramas with 18 nods, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said.

Overall, CBS led all networks with a total 48 nominations.

Also getting recognition was Sherri, which ended its four-season run in May. Host Sherri Shepherd picked up a nomination for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.

She will compete in the category against Tamron Hall for Tamron, Jennifer Hudson for The Jennifer Hudson Show, the hosts of The View, and Kelly Clarkson for The Kelly Clarkson Show, which was also canceled.
