Bridgerton has added a trio of actors to the cast ahead of the Netflix period drama’s fifth season.
The new season will focus on Francesca Stirling, played by Hannah Dodd and her romance with Michaela, portrayed by Masali Baduza.
They’ll be joined in the cast by Tega Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Gemma Knight Jones, Netflix and Shondaland announced in a press release Thursday.
Alexander (Mobland and The Sandman) will play “Christopher Anderson.” The ladies man is the son of Lord Anderson and desperately wants to make a mark on society.
Boatswain (Carnival Row) signed on for a role as “Helen Stirling,” Michaela’s mother who is carefully guiding her daughter through London’s social season.
Knight Jones (Mobland) will play “Lady Elizabeth Ashworth,” an old friend of Michaela’s who serves as her confidante and London guide. Lady Ashworth has a reputation for knowing the unspoken rules of society.
The eight-episode season is filming in London. A premiere date will be announced later.
Jess Brownell serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.
