A friend of singer D4vd has been arrested over a thousand miles from Los Angeles, after failing to appear at a grand jury hearing in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas.
Neo Langston, 23, was booked in Helena, Montana on Thursday, Jan. 22, on an outstanding out-of-jurisdiction warrant, according to jail records.
Thom Bridge, a multimedia journalist at the Helena Independent Record, posted pictures on the X platform Friday of Langston being taken into custody at a house in Helena. He was wearing a sweat suit and sneakers as police officers placed him in handcuffs.
Langston, a social media streamer, smiled in his booking photo after changing into a jail-issued orange jumpsuit.
Social media users flooded X with pictures of the streamer with D4vd, whose birth name is David Anthony Burke.

On Friday afternoon, TMZ reported Langston was “being transferred to Los Angeles,” following a Friday morning court appearance in Montana. The Helena Police Department told the outlet its officers are assisting Los Angeles police.
D4vd, 20, was identified in November as a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas, 14, as a grand jury convened.
The case began on Sept. 8, when LAPD officers were summoned to a tow yard in Hollywood about a strong odor coming from an impounded Tesla registered to D4vd. Officers found a decomposed and dismembered body in the front trunk that had been placed inside a bag.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the body on Sept. 17, as Rivas.
The teenager had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California, about 60 miles from Los Angeles. She was last seen on April 5, 2024.

The Tesla with her body inside was towed from a wealthy neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills neighborhoold in L.A., near the $4.1 million house where D4vd had been living.
The LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) is leading the investigation. On Sept. 18, detectives served a search warrant at the Hollywood Hills home and carried out bags of evidence as local news helicopters filmed overhead.
The homeowner has spoken to several media outlets and said the singer moved out.
The LAPD has released few details. But in a Sept. 25 interview with ABC7 Los Angeles, Police Chief Jim McDonnell referred to the case as a “homicide” investigation.
The medical examiner’s office has been barred from providing additional details after police obtained a court order halting the release of information in the case. The move followed a series of leaks to the media, including viral reports claiming Rivas’ body had been found frozen, which police debunked.
D4vd was born in Queens, New York in 2005, according to his Apple Music page. After moving to Texas, he became a successful streamer and began creating songs for his gaming videos.
His music is described as a combination of “bedroom pop, R&B and alternative rock.” He has over a billion streams on Spotify, and released the album Withered last year.
The singer’s career was taking off when Rivas’ body was found last fall. Since then, his label Interscope Records and parent company Universal Music Group have stopped promoting his music and the remaining dates on his concert tour were canceled.
Police have said he is no longer cooperating with the investigation.
According to published reports, D4vd was paid a $3 million advance when he signed his record deal in 2022. He was 17 years old at the time.
