Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Barbershop TV series is adding more familiar faces to its cast.

Eight more actors have joined the series in guest-starring roles, including Saturday Night Live alums Ego Nwodim as Shelly-Ann and Devon Walker as Southside Swole, Variety reported Thursday, Jan. 22.

Other new additions are Zack Fox (Abbott Elementary, The Vince Staples Show) as Alderman Warren; Diallo Riddle (South Side, Sherman’s Showcase) as Pastor Devante; Ziwe (Ziwe, Dickinson) as Abbi; Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Schmigadoon) as Juan Grillz; Comedian CP (Sunday After Six, How to Die Alone) as Marvin; and Belmont Cameli (Saved by the Bell, Alto Knights) as Shep.

The show is based on the Barbershop film franchise and stars Jermaine Fowler as Travis “Trav” Porter, the grandson of Ice Cube’s original character, Calvin Palmer, owner of the iconic Chicago barbershop.

As previously reported, Amazon ordered the series in May 2025.

The guest stars will appear alongside series regulars Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr. and E.J. Bonilla. Recurring cast members include Bokeem Woodbine, Bresha Webb, Langston Kerman and Tiana Okoye.

While the barbers are new, “the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fades are still the dopest in the city — because at Calvin’s, the community comes together for way more than just a haircut,” according to the official description.

The series is penned and executive produced by Marshall Todd (Woke), who also co-wrote the screenplay for the original 2002 film. Max Searle (Dave) will serve as co-showrunner and executive producer.

Other executive producers include Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Mike Stein, Bradley Gardner, Cameron Burnett, and Autumn Bailey-Ford.

The series is produced by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions, along with Prominent Productions, State Street Pictures, and Amazon MGM Studios. Tiffany Brown will co-executive produce for Hartbeat.

A premiere date for the series will be announced later.
