Toni Braxton is returning to Lifetime with a new movie based on her music. The film titled Breathe Again debuts on Jan. 24, and will kick off the network’s “Love of a Lifetime” winter slate.
The film reunites Braxton with Essence Atkins, who also had a role in the Grammy winner’s fall film, He Wasn’t Man Enough. Joining the two is A Different World alum Cree Summer.
Breathe Again follows three women, Jennifer (Braxton), Vanessa (Summer), and Evelyn (Atkins), who meet on the set of a reality dating show. All three have experienced heartbreak and are looking for a fresh start. They leave Los Angeles for Seattle and embrace new possibilities.
Braxton executive produces alongside Tanya Lopez and Kenneth Crear, who also worked on the singer’s last Lifetime movie. Additional executive producers include Howard Braunstein and Stan Brooks, who directed the film as well. Breathe Again premieres Saturday, Jan. 24 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

The new film slate follows Lifetime’s fall romance movie lineup, that was watched by a total 5.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen figures.
The fall 2025 slate premiered on Nov. 1, and was made up of:
-Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough
-Terry McMillan Presents: His, Hers, Ours
-Terry McMillan Presents: Preach, Pray, Love
-Eric Jerome Dickey’s Friends and Lovers

Terry McMillan’s Tempted 2 Love
The following weekend Lifetime will bring viewers a romance movie from executive producer Terry McMillan.
A sequel to last year’s Tempted by Love, the new film also stars Garcelle Beauvais, who reprises her role as celebrated chef Ava. Beauvais is joined in the cast by Boris Kodjoe, Vaughn W. Hebron, and Lela Rochon.
In the film, Ava has moved on from the heartbreak she previously suffered after encouraging Luke (Hebron), who is 20 years younger, to leave the country for culinary school.
Ava jets off to Portugal to headline a prestigious event and is accompanied by new boyfriend Ellis (Kodjoe). But as the two enjoy their time together, fate gets in the way.
Luke, now a culinary school graduate, unexpectedly arrives with a new partner of his own named Lily (Mara Huf). As their paths cross, sparks will once again fly between Ava and Luke.
While they both have new partners, they must decide what’s best for their careers and their relationship. Terry McMillan’s Tempted 2 Love premieres Saturday, Jan. 31 at 8/7c.

Terry McMillan’s His, Hers and Ours
The following weekend, Lifetime will air an extended version of the previously released Terry McMillan’s His, Hers and Ours .
The film centers on single father Darius, who makes a love connection with the mother of his daughter’s boyfriend.
Taye Diggs and Lesley-Ann Brandt lead the cast and are both executive producers. Additional executive producers include Charles Murray and Terry McMillan.
The drama comes from The Ninth House in association with Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media company. Terry McMillan’s His, Hers and Ours airs Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10/9c.
