The XXXTentacion single, Sad!, continues to generate strong sales.
In the week following the rapper’s June murder, the song – which was released in March – jumped from 52nd to first on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Now the single has been certified triple platinum, Chart Data announced Wednesday.

XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, died on June 18 after he was shot outside Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
A dark-colored SUV blocked the rapper’s BMW i8, preventing him from leaving the motorcycle shop, according to The Associated Press.
Two masked men got out of the SUV to rob the 20-year-old rapper, but a struggle occurred and he was shot multiple times by one or more gunmen.

The suspects took a Louis Vuitton bag containing $50,000 cash and fled, authorities said.
On July 25, the third of four suspects was arrested in connection with the shooting, according to the Sun Sentinel.
Robert Allen, 22, of Lauderhill, Florida, was taken into custody at his sister’s home in Georgia. Authorities described him as a person of interest in the case. He is not accused of being the gunman.
Dedrick Williams, 22, and Michael Boatwright, 22, have also been arrested. Boatwright is accused of firing the fatal shot.
Police are still searching for 20-year-old Trayvon Newsome of Fort Lauderdale.
