Wyclef Jean Hospitalized, Says He’ll ‘Be Back Soon’

Wyclef Jean has returned home after an overnight hospital stay.

The Haitian rapper took to Instagram on Monday, March 13, to let his followers know he was undergoing medical treatment.

“Sometimes we forget that our body is our temple. Be back soon,” Wyclef captioned a video of himself in a hospital gown, while sitting in a wheelchair.

The former Fugees member did not give details on what exactly was wrong.

But he later told TMZ he felt numbness on the right side of his face after returning to Los Angeles from Miami last weekend.

He immediately went to see his family doctor, who sent him to the hospital.

Hospital staff conducted a round of medical tests and the initial results indicated the face numbness was caused by exhaustion and stress.

The 53-year-old hitmaker said he was released from the hospital following an overnight stay and will undergo more testing next week

Last fall, the Grammy-winning musician was appointed chair of the music advisory board for the Harlem Festival of Culture, a reimagined version of the 1969 festival featured in the Oscar-winning 2021 documentary, Summer of Soul, from Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.

Wyclef is tasked with advising festival leaders and helping to build support in the artist community.

The newly relaunched festival will take place this summer.
