Tyrese Gibson has found himself in trouble with the law — over child support.
On Monday, Sept. 9, the actor appeared in Fulton County Court amid an ongoing child support battle with his ex-wife, Samatha Lee, but things did not go well for Tyrese.
According to TMZ, Judge Kevin Farmer held the singer and actor in contempt of court and had him escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs.

Back in April of 2023, Farmer ordered the California native to pay $10,000 a month, which per the report from TMZ, he has only allegedly been paying $2,200 each month.
Judge Farmer did say The Fast & Furious actor could square things up, and avoid jail, if he “coughs up $73,000 — which includes $7,500 for Samantha’s attorney fees.”
A source told TMZ, that actor is now “making arrangements” to pay the $73,000.
It’s worth noting that just a day earlier, on Sunday, Sept. 8, Tyrese went public to say he feared he was going to be arrested soon, citing the judge’s warning as the reason, per Vibe.
Tyrese took to Instagram and in a now-deleted post, he wrote: “At 9 am in the morning in Atlanta I might be arrested in court.”
He later accused Lee’s legal team of not liking him.
“It’s pretty clear that they hate my guts, but I must remind them and everything about my life and my success. I’ve worked my a– off since I was 14 years old to get here,” he added. “#FamilyLawCourts are the WORST TOWARDS FATHERS.”
Tyrese also expressed his feelings that being “born a man” meant that the legal system was against him.
He and Lee divorced back in 2020 after tying the knot in 2017. They share 5-year-old daughter Soraya.
