Tiffany Haddish delivered comedy to the needy on Thanksgiving, then hours later landed in handcuffs.

The actress and comedian was arrested around 5:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, in Beverly Hills on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officers took Haddish, 43, into custody after receiving a complaint that a driver was “stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive … apparently slumped over the wheel while the car was running,” TMZ reported.

The outlet published photos and video of officers escorting a handcuffed Haddish to a police cruiser.

She was cited for driving under the influence and released.

The Girls Trip and Night School star was dressed in Black pants, a multi-colored top and black sneakers, and appeared to comply with officers’ commands without incident.

Just hours before the arrest, Haddish told jokes on stage and helped serve meals at the Laugh Factory in nearby West Hollywood, for the venue’s 43rd annual night of free Thanksgiving dinner and comedy for the homeless and residents in need of a hot meal.

Haddish has a long history with the Laugh Factory and frequently returns to the Sunset Strip comedy club for its annual Thanksgiving event and summer comedy camp for children, which she attended as a kid in foster care.

Before taking the stage on Thursday night, Haddish told local news station Fox 11 that Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada helped her years ago when she was struggling financially.

“I’ve been a part of this since 1999… to be here, for me, it’s full circle,” she said. “When I first started coming here, I was sitting down at the tables eating, I was receiving a meal.”

She added, “To be here now and to be sharing and giving, for me there’s just no words to explain.”

Haddish’s career took off after she landed a role in the 2017 film Girls Trip alongside Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith.  She has since appeared in a string of films. She won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018 for her guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, and a Grammy Award in 2021 for her special “Black Mitzvah.”

The comedian was previously arrested on suspicion of DUI in the Atlanta area in January 2022.

Around the time of that arrest, she told Entertainment Tonight her personal life was “in shambles” following a public split from rapper Common, her friend and mentor, comedian Bob Saget, passed away, and her dog died.

“I’m very emotional,” she told the outlet.
