Singer and producer The Weeknd announced on Twitter Thursday he will be headlining the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show on Feb. 7, 2021 in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The Canadian performer tweeted: “Performing on the iconic stage. see you 02/07/21 @pepsi #pepsihalftime #SBLV.”
“We are thrilled to have The Weeknd join us in Tampa Bay on the Pepsi Halftime Stage,” Brian Rolapp, NFL chief media and business officer, said in a statement. “Halftime Show performances have a history of excellence and creativity and we look forward to seeing what he will bring to Super Bowl LV.”

The official Twitter account for Pepsi also simultaneously announced The Weeknd as its pick for the show: “When your talent is limitless, you belong on the world’s largest stage. @theweeknd #PepsiHalftime #SBLV @rocnation.”
The announcement comes after the success of the “Blinding Lights” singer’s 2020 album, “After Hours”. The Weeknd’s recent collaborations with artists include Ariana Grande, rapper Juice Wrld, and Colombian singer Maluma.
The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become an iconic musical performance for viewers around the world. Next year’s halftime show will be held at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
