Tracy Morgan comedy The Last O.G. will not be returning for a fifth season.

The series, which humorously explored an ex-con’s reintegration into a much-different society, left things on a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of season 4, with Morgan’s character Tray Barker taking the fall for a shooting he did not commit in the season’s final episode.

However, there won’t be a new season to tie up the storyline, TV Line reported Wednesday.

Meanwhile, sources told The Hollywood Reporter told that the decision to cancel the show was made months ago, shortly after the season 4 finale aired.

Season 3 was watched by more than 20 million viewers on linear and digital platforms, but the fourth season saw a 30 percent dip in viewers during its run from October to December 2021. Season 4 was also the first to not feature Tiffany Haddish.

The Last O.G. was co-created by Jordan Peele and John Carcieri. The series launched its run on TBS in 2018. In addition to Morgan and Haddish, it starred Ryan Gaul, Dante Hoagland, and Taylor Mosby. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum Janet Hubert also appeared in several episodes of the final season.

All four seasons of the series are currently available for streaming on a number of different platforms, including TBS.com, Hulu Live TV, and HBO Max.
