“She had it all – smart, beautiful and inquisitive,” Payne’s former co-anchor said.
The Los Angeles-based comic frequently performed at comedy clubs, including the Laugh Factory.
“Our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully,” the actor’s family said.
The actress worked in Hollywood for over four decades.
Thomas recently performed with Kool & the Gang at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Lons appeared on several BET docuseries including “Frankie & Neffe.”
