Tom Hanks turned in a hilarious performance as a Trump supporter on SNL50, marking the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live. Now some real Trump fans are furious.
The Oscar-winning actor played Doug — a Trump-loving, Make America Great Again hat-wearing contestant — on a mock game show called “Black Jeopardy” on Sunday night’s broadcast.
“Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” SNL regular Kenan Thompson said as Darnell Hayes, host of the game show.
SNL alums Eddie Murphy, Tracy Morgan and Leslie Jones went word-for-word in the game, before Hanks joined the competition near the end of the sketch.

When it was time for Hanks’ Doug to answer a question, he correctly identified the Church Lady, a character made famous on SNL by comedian Dana Carvey.
“Speaking of church, can I say something, if more people went to church, we wouldn’t be in this mess we’re in now,” Hanks said in a thick Southern accent.
Thompson agreed with his assessment and told Hanks: “You’re welcome at ‘Black Jeopardy’ anytime.”
“Well, thank you, my brother. Maybe I’ll start a show for you to come on and we’ll call it ‘White Jeopardy,’” Hanks responded.
“We don’t need it,” Thompson told him, before cordially extending his hand. Doug recoiled and refused to shake Thompson’s hand.
This isn’t the first time Hanks has joined “Black Jeopardy” as Doug, but this latest appearance caused anger among Trump supporters.
Among those criticizing the sketch was SNL alum Victoria Jackson, who appeared on the show from 1986 to 1992.
Jackson, who is a Trump supporter, told TMZ the sketch was “stupid,” adding that she was offended by some of the jokes on the special.
Comedian and writer Vincent Oshana expressed even more anger in a post on X, and suggested the FBI should investigate Hanks.
“You’d think these people would’ve learned their lesson after November 5th, but I guess not. No wonder nobody watches SNL or NBC anymore. I honestly believe everyone who goes after Trump has something to hide, and I wonder if we’ll be finding out anything about Tom Hanks once Kash Patel is in charge of the FBI,” Oshana posted.
By the way, Oshana was off base with his claim “nobody watches” SNL.
NBC announced Monday that SNL50 drew a total 14.8 million viewers via TV and streaming on Peacock in live+ same day viewing, making it NBC’s most popular primetime entertainment program since the 2020 Golden Globes.
