Simon Guobadia, known for his time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has reportedly been sent back to his home country after months in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
The Nigerian entrepreneur and estranged husband of RHOA star Porsha Williams was deported a few days ago, according to Us Weekly.
Back in February, Urban Hollywood 411 reported Guobadia was taken into custody and held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, as part of the government’s broader deportation efforts.

His removal follows President Donald Trump’s return to the White House and his administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
Despite the situation, Tai Savet, a friend and business partner of Guobadia, told Us Weekly the reality TV personality is in “good spirits” after a “tough experience” in federal detention.
Guobadia tried for years to obtain citizenship, but was denied because of alleged criminal activity and past arrests for fraud.
In March 2023, he filed a 13-page petition challenging the rejection of his naturalization application, as previously reported. However, court records showed a federal judge dismissed the case in January 2024.
According to the documents, Guobadia’s citizenship application was denied in July 2022. He later requested a hearing, but that request was also denied.
The documents said he first entered the U.S. in 1982 but overstayed his visa. He later left the country voluntarily, came back, and overstayed his visa a second time.
His deportation comes as he goes through a divorce with Williams, who filed in February 2024 after 15 months of marriage.
Guobadia made his debut on season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta alongside former wife, RHOA alum Falynn Pina.
The two split up and he later married her castmate Porsha Williams.
In a March 2025 interview with “The Breakfast Club,” Williams said she was frequently “pulled aside” by immigration agents when she traveled with Guobadia.
She also revealed his detention was slowing their divorce process. “I’m trying to finish my divorce, and I can’t do that if I don’t have a person to divorce. We need to be in court,” she said.
Following his experience with immigration authorities, Guobadia has launched a new business selling shirts, with proceeds reportedly going toward helping people in ICE custody.
