Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Peter Thomas revealed he tested positive for COVID-19, and has been in bed for eight days.

Thomas took to Instagram Sunday to offer details on his diagnosis. “I’m in bed, of course. I’ve been in bed now for the last eight days,” Thomas said in a video he uploaded.

Lying on his side in the footage, he explained that he took the coronavirus test five times and received negative results. The sixth time he tested positive.

“I’m going to tell you something, wear your mask, wear gloves and practice social distancing,” Thomas advised.

He added that he believes he contracted the virus by taking photos with fans.

“People come up to me and ask me to take pictures all the time and they want me to have the mask off and they want to hug on me and they say they like me,” he said. “I take those pictures, and every time I take those pictures, I’m praying to God that I don’t get this thing, but it caught up to me.”

Thomas, who was previously married to RHOA star Cynthia Bailey, described his symptoms in detail.

“It’s the most excruciating pain I could think of… My stomach has been a complete wreck for the last eight days, pain, constant cramping. The pain is crazy. Chills all day and all night,” he explained.

He noted that he’s had “cold sweats,” must constantly keep his body hydrated, has no appetite, is experiencing diarrhea, and has been throwing up.

“I gotta be in bed for another seven days before they come and take the test again,” he added. “I have to be negative twice before I can even think about going back outside. I guess I should be celebrating because here in Miami, there’s over 260 people dying every day for the last seven days… I am celebrating because I’m still alive.”

Thomas, 58, posted an update Tuesday afternoon and was obviously feeling better. The post included a video of him dancing to 2Pac’s “California Love.”
