NeNe Leakes is sharing her thoughts on the divorce drama and sudden reconciliation between her former Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Kim Zolciak and her husband, Kroy Biermann.
Leakes, 55, was interviewed about the couple by TMZ on Sunday (July 16) after landing at Los Angeles International Airport.
The reality star dismissed rumors that Zolciak’s divorce and reconciliation were part of a larger scheme for her to get back on reality TV, suggesting that she couldn’t imagine Zolciak, 45, and Biermann, 37, going to such lengths for the sake of a show.
“It makes great TV, but I wouldn’t personally want to act like I’m having some issues with my husband just to get back on TV,” Leakes said. “So hopefully that’s not what it is.”

Zolciak was one of the original cast members on RHOA when the show premiered in 2008. She left the series after the fifth season, which wrapped up in 2013, and later returned as a guest and friend of the show for the ninth and tenth season.
Given Zolciak’s long relationship with the franchise, Leakes believes if her former co-star wants her peach back, it will happen.
“I’m sure that she will get back on the show whether she did that or not,” Leakes explained. “I’m sure they will allow her to come back over and over again.”
The RHOA star also confirmed that she reached out to her former co-star “a few times” during her separation from her husband.
Zolciak filed for divorce from Biermann in May 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage, claiming at the time that their relationship was “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, did not have an amicable split. The pair’s separation saw them taking shots at each other on social media, along with a messy custody battle.
Zolciak, for her part, filed a court request to have Biermann drug tested after alleging that he used marijuana.
Biermann also filed a request to have Zolciak complete a psychological evaluation over alleged gambling problems.
However, in July 2023, the couple ultimately called off their divorce. Zolciak filed paperwork to dismiss the divorce just days after she and Biermann were spotted attending a church service with their four children: 12-year-old Kroy (‘KJ’) Jr., 10-year-old Kash, and nine-year-old twins, Kaia and Kane.
