Cause of Death Revealed for Reality Star Lyric McHenry

The cause of death has been revealed for Lyric McHenry, who was found unconscious on a New York sidewalk in August.

The 26-year-old reality star died from an overdose of cocaine, alcohol and heroin on Aug. 14, according to an affidavit obtained by E! News.

Police have also made an arrest in connection with her death.

On Oct. 15, Alexis Mejia-Ramirez was charged with concealment of a human corpse and tampering with evidence, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Mejia-Ramirez, 29, allegedly helped two other men move McHenry’s body to the sidewalk after she overdosed.

The criminal complaint alleges that in the earlier morning hours of Aug. 14, Alexis Mejia-Ramirez and “two other male individuals” placed McHenry’s body above the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx. Police found McHenry slumped on the sidewalk a few hours later.

Mejia-Ramirez was released on $1,500 bail on Oct. 26. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

According to published reports, McHenry was about 20 weeks pregnant when she was found on the sidewalk after a night of celebrating her birthday.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Los Angeles native’s father, Doug McHenry, is a movie producer and her mother Jennifer is a Hollywood stylist.

Lyric McHenry graduated from Stanford University in 2014. She appeared on EJNYC with Magic Johnson’s son, EJ Johnson, and served as a producer on the E! series.
