The new Taye Diggs-produced vertical drama series Tides of Temptation now has a premiere date.
Microhouse Films and Lifetime announced this week the suspense series will premiere July 7, as one of the inaugural titles on the new Microhouse Films platform.
The mobile-first drama stars Q Stenline, better known as SwagBoyQ, and marks a new partnership between Lifetime and Microhouse, which Diggs co-founded.
Set on the Caribbean island of Nevis, Tides of Temptation follows Constance (Mea Wilkerson), whose life is controlled by her abusive boyfriend and overbearing brother. After she falls for ambitious young athlete Jamal (SwagBoyQ), the pair discover their relationship could put everything they love at risk.
Troy Brookins and David John Craig also star in the drama.
The series expands a story set in the world of Lifetime’s upcoming original movie, Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise with You. As previously reported, the film stars and is executive produced by Diggs and Heather Hemmens. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey also has a role in the film, which premieres this fall on the cable network.

While the two projects share the same universe, Tides of Temptation tells a standalone story ahead of the film’s premiere.
The new series also kicks off a wider partnership between Lifetime and Microhouse, with four additional vertical titles already in development. Designed for smartphone viewing, the Microhouse platform aims to give creators a place to produce, distribute and monetize vertical content.
“The next generation of entertainment is being shaped by mobile-first audiences, and Microhouse was created to help lead that evolution,” Diggs said in a statement. “We’re building a home for creators and premium storytelling in this space, and Tides of Temptation represents exactly the type of project we want to champion as we launch the platform and begin this partnership with Lifetime.”
Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming at A&E, Lifetime and LMN, said vertical storytelling offers “an exciting new opportunity.”
“Tides of Temptation is one of the pillars of our vertical strategy, and we’re excited to take this first step alongside Taye and Microhouse Films. Together, we’re creating stories designed for the way audiences are engaging with content today while staying true to the compelling storytelling that defines Lifetime,” Frontain Bryant said.
In addition to Diggs, executive producers on the series include Shelby Stone, Autumn Federici, and Chet Fenster. Troy Brookins produces.
Gary and Edmund Entin directed the project from a script by Nanea Miyata, based on a story by Ejay Jamison.
Tides of Temptation debuts July 7 on the soon-to-be launched Microhouse Films platform. A first-look trailer and key art were also released ahead of the premiere. You can watch the trailer for the series here.
